150 year old traditional Lowestoft smokehouse, rescued from closure 2 years ago by Gerry & Glynis Skews. Started smoking Kippers and Bloaters the old fashioned way but added Smoked Mackerel, Salmon, Haddock, Cod, Roes and more recently Olives, Game, Cheeses and Meats. The business now supplies many of the leading wholesalers including Royal Warrant Holders, Billingsgate Fish Market and Leading Restaurants. Recently developed Gin and Whiskey Cured Smoked Salmon as a new concept in food curing. Although the business is truly traditional it uses modern digital infrastructure to manage production, sales and distribution to allow a wider range of products to a broader audience. The business plans to introduce a Kosher range of products for sale into specialist London outlets.
